Walked up one of the alpine hillsides of Arctic Valley, one
of the local ski areas, this morning. Many Golden-crowned
and Savannah Sparrows. I didn't know that Savannah
Sparrows would do a broken-wing display to lead predators
(like me) away from their nests, but that is exactly what I saw
one do. It also did a little "rodent run" along the trail in
front of me, looking exactly like a little vole scooting along.
