One of the nice things about birding in Nova Scotia during the summer (on my
recent trip there) was the ease of identifying gulls. The large gulls were
easy - Great Black-backed and Herring. The small gulls were easy -
Ring-billed and Black-legged Kittiwake. I was able to identify every gull I
saw regardless of the age. It was quite refreshing looking at gulls with no
hybrids to contend with.
