Here's an announcement about Bayocean Spit that may of interest to some.
While OBOLites may object somewhat to the "conservation-based"
discussion, note the short date upcoming. Thanks to Margaret Tweelinckx
for passing his along to me.
If you want to flame--flame me. But as Margaret correctly notes, this
is in line with new OFO projects.

Hi Ray, I understand you wanted any information on conservation that
would affect the birds and habitat. I'll give this announcement to you
instead of putting it on obol as many ( I think ) don't want to hear
about conservation issues. Please pass this along to others.
Tillamook Bay National Estuary Project has an all community gathering to
identify and support actions for the Comprehensive Conservation and
Management Plan---- Sat.(8:30 AM-2:00PM) July 12, 1997 at First
Christian Church,2203 4th St Tillamook, Oregon.
This could be of interest especially considering site proposal for IBA.
We still want to have Bayocean Spit zoned natural instead of
recreational as it is now. It would be great if all this could come
together to save Bayocean area as a bird refuge.
Tonight next to the graveled road on the west side were many palm trees
which made a strange sight. Apparently a commercial will be shot there
when the weather gets better.
Thanks for your efforts.
