This is Jason Coughlin-Starfire, reporting for my trip from June 22-July
9 from Seattle to Tucson. My father and I drove the distance and birded
along the way before setting up our base in Tuscon. About 1 week was spent
getting there, then a week and a half was spent birding arizona. The
following is my partialy annotated trip list. 186 species were noted on my
exciting trip as well as a few rarities. If I get a chance I'll post a list
of my mammal and reptiles sightings. I'd be happy to answer any questions you

51. PLAIN-CAPPED STARTHROAT (1 bird at Madera Canyon, found by myself and
Nigel Crook on July 8th. It was visiting the feeders at the Santa Rita Lodge.
It was found by myself and Nigel Crook. It is the 5th substantiated record
for the US. It is still being seen as of the 12th. For more info on the
