I am sure that many of you have had trouble keeping your scope tight on your
Bogan tripod, as have I. I found a simple solution.

The bolt that secures the scope to the head of the tripod is two pieces -
the bolt and the tightener. I took the bolt off the tripod (it slides out
of a slot in the head) and put a large lock washer on top of the tightener.
After sliding the bolt back into the slot and screwing it into the scope
mount, I tightened with bolt and tightener with pliers. The lock washer
has so far prevented the scope loosening.

I also glued the cork gasket to the top of the tripod head (that the scope
sits on) with contact cement. It has also stayed put. If you try this, be
sure to rough up the top of the head with course sandpaper to give the
contact cement something to grip to.
