The first juvenile CASPIAN TERNS are following the their parents around
screeching for attention.

Henry Gilmore reports 4 SOOTY SHEARWATERS and a BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE
from the North Head Lighthouse, Pacific County, WA. Depressingly large
numbers of COMMON MURRES are moving north and can be seen from most
seawatch vantages.

An OSPREY has apparently built a nest on one of the stadium lights in
Ilwaco (also Pacific Co.). This has the maintenance folks a tad upset.
The Osprey found it necessary to drop a large stick on one overly
assertive employee of the school district. Anyone who's had experience
with Ospreys on utility poles and successful (legal) strategies for
mitagating the problem may want to get in touch with the Ilwaco School
District before they do something that might violate the Migratory Bird
Treaty.
