Access to the pond (often called Catala Lagoon) on Damon Point is best made by
parking at a small parking area on the north side of the road, just as the land
widens (it's a short distance beyond the area noted above). These designated
spaces have concrete blocks that make the spot look like a parking area. By
walking across the road here, an observer can make a stealthy approach to the
pond at a point where a good portion of it can be viewed.

The "widening" mentioned above is not a recognized parking area; it is heavily
used because parking enforcement has been lax forever. Get in the habit of
using the designated spaces now to avoid a surprise ticket some day.
