A WESTERN SCREECH-OWL was calling at 57th and Hudson in Vancouver at
midnight on Thursday night.

A SPRUCE GROUSE with 5 young was seen on a tour of the GVRD Seymour
watershed.

Sightings for Wednesday, July 23

4 HEERMANS' GULLS, a COMMON EIDER, 2 RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS and a COMMON
LOON were off the Iona South Jetty. The HORNED PUFFIN was seen again today
off the West Coast of Vancouver Island. For information on this bird,
please call Adrian Dorst at 4 TURKEY VULTURES and 3 GREEN HERONS, including
a1 juvenile bird, were at Trinity Western University. The LAZULI
BUNTING/INDIGO BUNTING hybrid that has been at Interriver Park in N
Vancouver since May 26 has successfully nested. A female LAZULI BUNTING
was seen feeding a single young bird.

4 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS and 170 CASPIAN TERNS were in the small marsh at the
end of the Tsawwassen Jetty.

In late report for Tuesday, 2 GREATER YELLOWLEGS and 6 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS
were at Beach Grove lagoon on the rising tide. A VIRGINIA RAIL, an
AMERICAN BITTERN and 6 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS were at Brunswick Point on
Monday.
