The Portland Audubon Tillamook trip is Saturday, August 2. The
directions are as follows:

1) Meet at 8:30 at the Target/Mervyn's parking lot at Tanasbourne, which
is at NW185th and Hwy 26 in Hillsboro. Look for binocular wearing
enthusiasts. The group will leave the parking lot by 8:45.

2) Proceed to Tillamook on Hwy 26 and Rte. 6. Then proceed to the
Bayocean Spit parking lot, where we hope to be by 10:00.

3) Walk the spit, an approximately 6-mile walk, half up the beach and
half on a reasonably maintained road. Bring lunches, water, binos.,
scope, and whatever you need for the beach. Weather conditions on the
spit are usually cooler than the surrounding areas, so light jackets may
be wanted.

4) High tide is going to be around 2:30-3, so we will hopefully be
coming back along the flats as birds are closer.

Hope to see some of you there. RK
