Wind west at 5-10 mph; Temp 65F
visibility beyond 2km hampered by haze and heat distortion.

Method: One hour (timed) station count 100m west of "3 rocks" on
top of SJCR using 20x60 Bushnell spotting scope and 8x50 Bushnell
binoculars. Birds were sorted as to flyby, sitting on beach, sitting
on ocean or sitting on river.

Notes: COMMON MURRE flyby numbers have dropped considerably. At least
5 juveniles were noisily following adults around. PIGEON GUILLEMOTS are
still carrying food somewhere. 3 ELEGANT TERNS were mixed in with the
CASPIAN TERNS.

At least 6 HARBOR PORPOISES were working the waters near the jetty on
the ocean side. 2 HARBOR SEALS were also nearby.
