If you are interested in seeing our local Peregrine Falcons see Rich Landers
article coming out in sunday's paper (Aug 3rd). We saw an adult and two
fledges today (31st). One fledge was on the pipe crossing on the Sunset Hwy
bridge (Sunset Hwy & Couer D'alene St) on West edge of Spokane. The adult
was at the very top of the very tall concrete pillar supporting the RR
bridge, and the other fledge was low down on a cross piece of the same RR
bridge. There are also white throated Swifts at the same location. Cross
the sunset bridge heading West and take the first right. Drive down to the
park entrance, turn right and keep right until you get to the base of the
bridge. Drive on the gravel road under the bridge to the other side and look
around.
Also saw various and sundry small birds in the brush. It is noisy though
from the freeway traffic overhead. (I-90) Good birding Hans Krauss
