Columbia Estuary Report - 6/1/97

Icky weather left me a most unmotivated observer for most of this week.

The arrival of WILLOW FLYCATCHER this week fills the expected migrant
card here in Clatsop Co.

I did some atlasing this morning (Sunday) and was happily surprised to
find a pair of WESTERN KINGBIRDS in suitable habitat just west of the
Astoria Airport (on the fences surrounding the cow pastures.)

More substantial breeding proofs include:
Tree Swallow (fledgling)
Oregon Junco (fledgling)
Killdeer (nest with 3 eggs)
Common Yellowthroat (carrying nest material)
Song Sparrow (carrying nest material)
