Hi Yvonne -- try Eagle Creek park. It's a beautiful park that includes
forest, meadows, and a large reservoir, parts of which were undeveloped
when I lived in Indy (early '90s). The park is on the northwest side of
the city. Interstate 465 circles Indianapolis. If you get on 465 on
the west side of the city, traveling north, you take it to the 56th
street exit, then turn left and go over the highway. The park will be
on your right in 1/2 mile or so. Alternatively, from the interior of
the city, head north from downtown on any main street until you reach
56th street or Kessler (Kessler is also 56th, the names alternate), then
go left until you get past the 465 overpass and come to the park on your
right. Eagle Creek is generally considered the most beautiful outdoor
spot in Indianapolis.
