Greg,

Last year Steve Mlodinow reported hearing a bird that he
felt could have been a Boreal owl in either eastern Snohomish
or Skagit county. I don't remember exactly what time of year this
was but it seems that the timing of your report is approximately
the same.

If you had the incredible luck to hear this bird again
it would be really helpful to get a recording of it. Certainly
the habitat in the Cascade foothills is not right for Boreals
but stranger things have happened.
