HI Tweeters,

Jim, today I again visited box no. 11 off Newland Rd. I came armed with a
good pair of binos and a determination to I.D. the occupant. Ash Throated
Flycatchers are very good at hiding from nosy visitors, but after about an
hour of hide and seek a positive I.D. was made... She finally came out of
the box and flew only a few feet from the nest rather than the 2 previous
exits of several hundreed feet....

On the down side today, 4 Bluebird nest on the North Wenas Road, out of 47
boxes, that either had eggs or baby Bluebirds were found destroyed. There
were picked Bluebird feathers on the ground at the base of the boxes. Due to
the appearance of the nest remains, it looks like damage consistent with
Raccoons!!!! At least 4 adult and 22 eggs or young were lost.

On the good news side today, 4 baby Black Capped Chickadees fledged just off
our deck at our home in Cowiche Canyon, just a few feet away from our Ben
Wrens nest box... Ben sang extremely loud today as if he were claming he had
something to do with it all....
