Tweets,

Timely topic. Just last Sunday I heard a House Wren
singing on the Miller penninsula (the land between Sequim and
Discovery Bays. It was singing from the lot at the corner of
Diamond Pt Rd & Gardiner Beach Rd. I was cruising by in my
car with the windows down, when I heard it's song. SCREECH!
I quickly made a three-point turn and pulled up to the lot
where I'd heard the song. Although I never got a look at the
wren I heard him singing his bubbly song over and over.

I've seen House Wren fledglings near the dump just
south of the Nisqually Refuge in the past. They are also
regular at Steilacoom Park south of Tacoma. Despite having
birded King county for more than fifteen years i've yet to
find one here. I rarely bird up in clearcut country of King
county though and I suspect there are a few to be found among
the slash and young brush.
