NATURAL RESOURCE FORUM PROGRAM

A series of interactive forums for the Olympic Peninsula community

1. Please come to this informal meeting to enjoy, share, and
learn about our abundant natural resources

2. Voice your opinions on important natural resource topics

DATE: June 12, 1997:

PROGRAM: Murrelets, Crows and Ravens. How forest
fragmentation and st edges affect nest predation on Marbled Murrelets.

SPEAKER: John Marzluff, Assistant Professor in Wildlife
Science, University of Washington, College of Forest Resources.

Dr. Marzluff will discuss his research on how forest
structure, proximity to humans, and landscape fragmentation affect
nest predation on Marbled Murrelets. The study also looks at how
forest edges affect predation and relating this infromation to buffer
widths called for by the forest practices board.

There will be complimentary refreshments served
