THANKS to several Tweeters who gave me advice for birding
in the Vancouver area. I birded bits of June 4,5,6. I
saw 40 species in all.

I found Crested Mynas after several hours of searching.
I had no luck at the 41st and West Blvd location. I walked
the area several blocks in all directions and no luck.
I have never spent so much time in back alleys or looking
over Starlings!! Perhaps Crested Mynas are no longer at
that location?? I did find 2 or more birds at the Hudson St
and Marine Drive location. They seemed to be carrying
food to a nest. They were going into an ornamental tree.

Stanley Park was convenient and easy to look at birds
along the bay. I saw one Common Loon, other bay ducks, etc.

Iona is a great birding. I enjoyed seeing so many Blue-winged
Teal, at least 8 in the ponds. One Canvasback in the bay.
A Peregrine Falcon perched on the fence to the left of the
entrance gate. No shorebirds except Killdeer and Spotted
Sandpiper. There were at least 3 Yellow-headed Blackbirds,
perhaps more. I didn't walk down the jetty road beyond the
ponds.
