Sightings for Saturday June 14

2 Purple Martins and 12 Caspian Terns were at Rocky Point in Port Moody. 2
Eastern Kingbirds were at Reifel.

Sightings for Friday June 13

Many of the same birds seen on Thursday were located again today. 2
Western Kingbirds, a Lazuli Bunting and a Green Heron were at Colony Farm.
Ospreys are nesting 100 yards east of the north end of Harris Road in Pitt
Meadows.

At Pitt Lake were 3 Grey Catbirds, a Turkey Vulture, 3 Osprey, 4 Trumpeter
Swans and a Yellow-rumped Warbler. A Great-horned Owl was reported from
the lower Westwood plateau area of Coquitlam. A Lazuli Bunting was near
the dog off-leash are at Tynehead Regional Park.

An Eastern Kingbird was at the Cora Brown subdivision on Sea Island. An
American Bittern has been calling at dusk on the Iona causeway for about a
week. A Peregrine falcon and 3 Canvasbacks were also on the Causeway. A
Western Sandpiper, 2 Lesser Yellowlegs and a Bank swallow were on the Inner
Ponds and a Pacific Loon was off the tip of the Iona south jetty.

Sightings for Thursday June 12

An ARCTIC TERN in breeding plumage was observed for about an hour this
morning on a log in the Pitt River at the N end of Harris Road. Also seen
in the area were EASTERN KINGBIRDS and 2 GREY CATBIRDS.

A Red-throated Pipit was seen on the Iona Inner Ponds.

Colony Farm had 1 male LAZULI BUNTING and WESTERN KINGBIRDS nesting on the
first tower. A PACIFIC LOON and 8 COMMON LOONS were off the south jetty at
Iona and 3 WESTERN SANDPIPERS and 2 LESSER YELLOWLEGS were on the inner
ponds.

An EASTERN KINGBIRD, a BARN OWL and a TURKEY VULTURE in over flight were
seen in the Cora Brown subdivision on sea island. A SEMIPALMATED PLOVER,
DUNLIN, WESTERN SANDPIPERS and BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS were at the foot of
96th on Boundary bay.

In an unusual sighting 16 TURKEY VULTURES were roosting in a tree at 206th
street and 128 Ave. in Maple Ridge.

The yellow-billed Loon, 3 Oldsquaw, 12 Common Loons and a subadult Common
Goldeneye were in the Crescent Beach/ Blackie Spit area.
