Mr. Sorensen:

I have just sent the following e-mail to Robert Norton:

"Mr. Norton:

When you were running BirdBase on a Mac it was the DOS version of
BirdBase
and an older Mac using the emulation program SoftPC. A number of people
have
been running BirdBase for Windows on newer Macs with the emulation
program
SoftWindows. Although in these circumstances BirdBase for Windows is
slower
than it is when run on a IBM computer, it is nowhere near as slow as
your
experience would indicate. I would very much appreciate it if you would
post
this information on Tweeters in order to clarify the situation.

Also, forward slashes are used in a Web site address. Ours is

http://members.aol.com/sbsp/index.html

If you visit it you will find you are listed as the winner of the
contest for
the person entering the largest number of sighting records on BirdBase.

I would hate to have you, or other Tweeters, think I would suggest
buying
SoftWindows plus BirdBase if you would end up with something useless.
