Sightings for Tuesday June 17

The UBC area continues to be a hot spot for rarities in June. A female
Tennessee Warbler and a Veery were seen at Cecil Green Park today. The
warbler was seen between the gravel parking lot and the bluff. Unusual for
this area was a Grey Catbird singing in a snag.

Sightings for Monday June 16

A Crested Mynah was at Burrard and 2nd. In an out-of-town sighting, a Rock
Thrush, which is an Asian species, was photographed near Spences Bridge in
the Fraser Canyon on June 6th. It is not known whether this bird is an
escapee.

Sightings for Sunday June 15

A Crested Mynah was at 70th and Oak and an Osprey was fishing in the pond
of an apartment building NW of the Lougheed Mall. 12 Common Loons, a
Red-necked Grebe and 8 Whimbrel were in the Crescent Beach / Blackie Spit
area.
