Sightings for Thursday June 19

Rare bird alert: A RUFOUS-NECKED STINT was seen this evening at Reifel in
the southern end of the West pond. The bird was with a group of 8 WESTERN
SANDPIPERS and a LEAST SANDPIPER. This morning a BLACKPOLL WARBLER was
seen at Cecil Green Park.

A MERLIN was at 37th & Fraser and 2 Western Kingbirds and an EASTERN
KINGBIRD were at Colony Farm. A COMMON NIGHTHAWK was observed at Coal
Harbour Marina very early this morning and a PURPLE MARTIN was at the same
location this evening. 3 CRESTED MYNAHS were in the 7700 block French
Street in Marpole.

Sightings for Wednesday June 18

A GREY CATBIRD was at Cecil green Park and 2 Male ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS were
singing in the vicinity of 20th Ave and 147th St. in S Surrey. 6 TURKEY
VULTURES and 3 GREEN HERONS were seen at Trinity Western University.

Sightings for Tuesday June 17

The UBC area continues to be a hot spot for rarities in June. A female
Tennessee Warbler and a Veery were seen at Cecil Green Park. The warbler
was seen between the gravel parking lot and the bluff. Unusual for this
area was a Grey Catbird singing in a snag.
