This is somewhat after the fact as I'm just now catching up on reading the
last couple of week's digests. Anyhow, in the July issue of WildBird
magazine, near the back, I saw an ad for a special pole for getting feeders
up to really high locations, for example, out of the reach of a bear. There
was also an ad for a "squirrel proof" feeder, that looked to me as if it
could work but would only allow access to little birds. It appeared to be
either a tube of seed or a tubular chunk of suet up the middle, with a chain
link sort of mesh encompassing the inner tube but allowing a space in
between the two tubes for small birds to feed inside the mesh. The picture
showed several little birds feeding inside the mesh. I don't have the
magazine with me but if anyone is interested, send me an e-mail and I'll
bring in the magazine with the contact phone numbers.
