I'd vote for Mayday Tree (Chokecherry). The one in my front
yard gets robins just when the fruit is starting to ripen, then
Bohemian Waxwings in November. They go for it before
they go for the mountain ash berries across the street.

Of course, if you're out shopping when the waxwings
arrive to "do" your tree, you'll miss the whole show for
another year.

Chokecherries also grow very fast and develop into good
strong trees. They would have the disadvantages Allyn
mentioned for non-native species.
