A short excursion to the Colombia River found a single singing
Black-throated Sparrow early this morning about 8:45, the bird was on the
flats just south of the Wanapum Dam, on the river side of the road.
Equally suprising was the abundance of Lark Sparrow on the flats, in the
area that I walked, about 2 acres, I flushed 16 Lark Sparrows. I did not
get a excelent look at all of the birds and so I cannot tell if most were
adults or Juviniles, but it would suprise me if there was 8 pairs in this
small area, and so I would assume some of these were fledged hatchlings.

The Mockingbird that was reported in Kittitas, last Wednesday was found
about 8:00 this morning near the corner of Fox and Christianson just NE of
Kittitas.
