On Saturday evening about 9:30 pm, Ruth Baker, Ken Brown and myself from
Tacoma, together with Nancy and Bill LaFramboise from Richland, located the
Flammulated Owl on the Rudholm property on Meyer Creek off Twisp Creek Road.
The bird was hooting softly and flying from tree to tree but finally we able
to get very good looks at the little fella. It remained close to the trunk
of the tree and was most cooperative in spite of spotlights.

It took a little bushwacking to get to the far side of the creek and
scramble up the slope through wet brush, but it was worth the sighting for
lifers for each of the Tacoma group.

Earlier in the afternoon, while scouting out locale in daylight, we had
excellent sightings of Black Swifts along Twisp Creek Road.
