Wednesday Jetty Count for
the South Jetty of the Columbia River, Clatsop Co., OR
25 June 1997 0900hr to 1000hr

Tide: out going
Weather: Mostly cloudy
Wind southwest at 15mph; Temp 55F

Method: One hour (timed) station count 100m west of "3 rocks" on
top of SJCR using 20x60 Bushnell spotting scope and 8x50 Bushnell
binoculars. Birds were sorted as to flyby, sitting on beach, sitting
on ocean or sitting on river.

Notes: There was very little movement in a particular direction
species flyby species seemed to be in feeding mode. The BALD
EAGLE was an immature (probably 3rd year). The Hummingbird was
seen flying toward the ocean along the jetty at about 0905hr and
returned in along the jetty at about 1000hr.
