Windy day made for poor viewing.

The highlight was a beautiful Osprey which flew right over our heads as it
worked its way up the slough.

Again this week, we saw many (mostly fledged) young:
Pied-billed Grebe Two stripe-heads
Green Heron Possibly the same young one as last week
Mallard Full-sized young
Gadwall? Saw some parentless 'lings
which I think were Gadwall
Bald Eagle Two babies at nest, with adult
Cooper's Hawk Very pale striped bird hunting near slough
American Crow Brown birds acting young
Black-capped Chickadee Parents feeding young
Bewick's Wren Parents feeding young
American Robin Spot-breasted young all over
European Starling Parents feeding young
Common Yellowthroat Young-looking birds in bush
Savannah Sparrow Young-looking birds on trail
Red-winged Blackbird Parents feeding young
Female disposing of fecal sac, too.

Gulls are beginning to return. We had one Ring-billed and one California. as
far as we could tell. House Finches have returned as well.

We also saw some copulating cowbirds -- made my day
