Varied Thrushes are not necessarily elevation specific breeders, they
are habitat specific (ie. mature coniferous forest with health understory)
I encounter Varied Thrushes regularly at Fort Columbia, Pacific Co. The
elevation is under 200ft and within spitting distance of the Columbia
River. I get them annually of my BBS route at Nicolai Mt, Clatsop Co. (OR).
down to about 200ft as well.
