Whilst engaged in an act of blackberricide on the fields of Valhalla, I spied
two Cedar Waxwings idly surveying our efforts from the tiptop of a western
red cedar. Waxwings nested at this site last year, safely tucked between sky
and salmonberry in the embrace of a vine maple. This is my first Waxwing
sighting of the year.

Can anyone fill me in on the extent of the roadwork above Skykomish? Is 2
being widened?
