I find myself using this figure of speech...well, of course,
you know that *between 70 and 80 per cent of all raptors
do not make it through their first winter*..most raptorphiles
I know accept that as general truth...

Anyone give me an actual cite on that on that?
I'd be interested if that's correct and who said it, in
which publication...

I may have picked that up from Bud Anderson in a Hawk ID
class..if anyonw is in contact with Bu, I'd appreciate it
if you'd ask him, or pass on this message..
