Thanks very much to those who responded to my Reifel request.
I will keep the phone number for next year.
With the Vancouver forecast for high winds and 100% chance of rain, we
decided on a car birding day of Skagit/Samish flats instead.
The weather was bad there too--very windy with rain on and off,
but we managed some intersting birding and observations. Bird
highlights were two oldsquaw very close in, at the Padilla Bay
Boat Launch, some good views of Eurasian Wigeon a little further
west on the road that crosses the Samish River mouth, six Snowies
at the Samish River mouth, at least two snowies (one very heavily
barred) on the east side of the Whitney La Conner Road approximately
a mile south of rt.20, and a very accommodating shrike at the
Skagit Wildlife Area.
Interestingly, I quess because of the winds, there was almost no
activity at the West 90 or the North Fork Access of the Skagit
Wildlife Area.
