Hello Tweets,

Just a quick note to report my first sighting of Violet-green Swallows
for 1997 at the George C. Riefel Sanctuary in Ladner yesterday Sunday
March 2. We saw 6 of them. They had been observed by others, the
Monday before.

Also of note among the 45 species observed, were 3 Northern Saw-whet
owls, one Black-crowned Night Heron and an immature Northern Goshawk
that has been frequenting the Sanctuary for about one and a half weeks.

(PS. Nobody told *me* that Bonaparte's Gulls were tree nesters)
