OK, This one put me over the edge. :)
I'd just like to point out that quite a few (most?) of the sarcastic
complaints about "off topic" posts have come from people whose names I
have never yet seen on Tweeters (Tim Shelmerdine and Scott Ray are obvious
exceptions, but the point holds). As has been pointed out before here,
Tweeters does not exist unless people post to it. The people who post the
most about shade coffee, conservation, etc. are the same people who post
the bird stuff that draws most people to this list. So if all you've done
so far is lurk and take advantage of other people's postings, nobody's
going to listen to you when you start telling them "Stop it! Go back to
posting bird stuff for me to read! You're annoying me!"
Get off your duffs and post something to do with birds yourself, for
chrissakes.
Oh and I, um, saw a robin this morning ;)
