Subject: Suggestions anybody?

My husband just discovered that a mice has been gnawing at the wires and
hoses on his car, apparently to gather nesting material. Unfortunately,
we had to have the car towed to the repair shop and must pay to replace
a cooling system hose. I now worry that the mice are going at the wires
and hoses on *my* car, which is parked right next to my husband's.

Does anybody have any ideas for how we might cheaply, easily and
non-offensively defend our cars? We do not have access to enclosed
parking. I suppose we can take some comfort that nesting activity does
not take place year-round.

Suggestions appreciated, either on- or off-line, as you think is
appropriate.
