Had a chance to run to the Edmonds Marsh and waterfront park for
a few minutes this lunch hour. I ran into (Ian ?) McGregor while there,
and he was kind enough to let me peer through his Kowa TSN 4
spotting scope. The image was very clear and crisp.

Temperature - mid 40's F, light wind, just beginning to rain at 1210

at the marsh
Great-blue Heron 12
Mallard 4 male
Gadwall 1 male
American Widgeon 1 male
Green-winged Teal 2 (according to Mr. McGregor)
Killdeer 4 (all hunkered down, looked like they
were as cold as me!)
Bald Eagle 1 adult, flyby
Red-winged Blackbird 1 male, 3 female
House Finch 3 male, 4 female

at the waterfront
Glaucous-winged Gull 6 adult, 7 immature
Surf Scoter 4 male, 3 female
Barrow's Goldeneye 4 male, 3 female
Double-crested Cormorant 1 (faint white wash across chest - immature?)
Rock Dove a couple pounds worth
Starling no more than ten pounds worth ;-)

that's right, only 1 cormorant, and NO grebes
