Hello, this is Portland Audubon Society's Rare Bird Report. This recording
was made Thursday March 6. If you have anything to add call Harry nehls at
233-3976.

The KING EIDER, SNOWY OWL, and OLDSQUAW continue to be found at Yaquina
Bay. A Herring run into the bay during the week attracted large numbers of
birds, including up to ten HARLEQUIN DUCKS and all three scoters along the
south jetty.

The EMPEROR GOOSE continues to be seen at Lewis and Clark State park on the
Sandy River east of Portland. The BLUE JAY that has been wintering in the
Cascade Park section of Vancouver, Washington is still being reported.

The EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL is still being seen along Fenk Road near
Tillamook. A PRAIRIE FALCON was along Highway 101 just south of Tillamook
March 2. Two SNOWY OWLS are still at the South Jetty of the Columbia River.


Ten EURASIAN WIGEON were reported from the Pellet Plant Meadow on Sauvie
Island March 4. Waterfowl are now in migration with large flocks CANADA
GEESE and SANDHILL CRANES conspicuous on the Island. A BRANT was with a
CACKLING GOOSE flock south of Forest Grove March 2. Three GREAT EGRETS were
at Coffeelake Marsh near Wilsonville March 3.

A PACIFIC LOON, the WHITE PELICAN, and 22 GREATER SCAUP were on Kirk Pond
at Fern Ridge Reservoir March 2. A pair of CINNAMON TEAL were nearby.
