I stole a few extra minutes this morning to stop by the Montlake Fill
at the UW. Blustry, but sunny; and very soggy.

American Widgeon; ~300 ~50% male
Eurasian Widgeon; 3 males, 1 female (in the two main ponds)
Northern Shoveler; ~6 male
Green-winged Teal; 2 pair
Gadwall; 1 pair
Mallard; 4 male
Bufflehead; ~5 pair
Coot; ~250
Canada Goose; ~100
Pied-billed Grebe; 1
American Crow; a few dozen
European Starling; ~50
Red-winged Blackbird; ~10 pair, some singing
American Robin; ~40
Northern Flicker; 10
House Finch; 6 some singing
Marsh Wren; 2 singing
Bewick's Wren; 2 singing
Song Sparrow; 1
Ring-necked Pheasant "singing", or is it calling?
and I'm sure I heard the first half of a Swainson's Thrush song....
I flushed one shorebird: most likely a snipe
Glaucous-winged Gull; assorted immatures, not able to age 'em yet

All told, on the order of a ton of birds :-)
