About 15 years ago my wife and I observed a kingfisher carrying food,
repeatedly, to what we thought must be a nest of young, that was
at least 300 feet directly above the Gallatin River in Montana. The
location was within one-half mile of the juncture of the Taylors Fork
and the Gallatin. This is a straight up bluff bank. We could only see
it carrying food. We could not see any hole or young and only
assumed it was feeding young. I frequent this area often and will
