On Sunday, 3/2, I spotted an eagle, several great blue herons, a
white-crowned sparrow, and a COYOTE! Where did I see the coyote? On the trail
that runs between the slough and blueberry fields...I was leaning against a
pine tree while a great burst of rain drenched all about me. The coyote came
trotting out of the blueberry fields, carrying a floppy four-legged creature
in its mouth. A cat, a frog, a rodent?

On Sunday, 3/9, my husband and I spotted a yellow-winged blackbird trilling
from the top of a willow branch. I knew the bird without using the
binoculars, but as I told my husband, "I better make a positive I.D. I'll
post this to tweeters and send 5 people out to Mercer Slough Tuesday morning
in search of the yellow-wing blackbird."
