One minor correction in an otherwise very useful post: Isotherms are lines
drawn along the same temperature. I think what the writer was looking for
was "streamlines" which are lines of similar wind direction. Streamlines
often blow at angles to isotherms (otherwise we wouldn't warm up much!).
