Since I haven't seen many reports of tree swallows in the past couple
of weeks I thought I would post my observation from last week. Last
Saturday my partner and I, both untrained observers, saw about
100-200 tree swallows at the Willapa wildlife refuge at the Jeldness Road
location. They were apparently trying to pick tiny insects from the
surface of the water. We didn't see any violet-green swallows. My birding
has become better since I invested in Gore-TEx.
