Good question. We have some nest boxes set up next to or near just such a
pond at my school. It usually maintains at least a little water until late
August. They weren't used last year, but were partly submerged during the
rainy season because of poor placement. This year they are set higher so
we'll see. I'll be interested in responses from those in the know.
