The SNOWY OWLS are still at the SJCR. Anybody want to take a guess when
they'll be leaving? The ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK is also still in the area.

RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS appeared in large numbers this week. I saw the first
female of the year at Fort Columbia (WA) today. Swarms of TREE and
VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS were seen in sevaral spots.

There were 24 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS in Chinook Valley. The first singing
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW was at the farm on the west end of Chinook Valley Rd.

I drove Clatsop Beach in the storm yesterday. There were only 171 SANDERLINGS
in 5.5 km of beach. The only dead bird found was a Brandt's Cormorant.
