1) Where do I tell them to take their folks to see wood ducks in Western
Washington?
2) Where is your favorite spot to photograph Wood Ducks?
3) What date is a typical hatching date for baby Wood Ducks?
4) What typical date do the young leave the nest?
5) Describe the courting behavior of Wood Ducks? When does that happen?
6) Describe the mating call of a Wood Duck?
7) What is your favorite painting, photograph, sculpture, decoy, etc of
a Wood Duck?
8) Where could that 6 year old take their parents to show them what you
described in #6?
9) What other questions might your 6 year old ask?
10) What else would you like to tell your 6 year old about Wood Ducks?

Thank you so much!! I am a docent at the Seattle Audubon Society on
Tuesday afternoons. I would love to hear from some children asking such
questions. How can we all encourage that? I answer the SAS Hotline from
2-4pm on Tuesday at 523-4483.
