The "Hawaiian Express" hit SE BC with loads of rain in the last 2-3 =
days. The highway that gives our small, rural community access to the =
outside world has been closed in about 4 different locations because of =
mudslides, snowslides, and impassable boulders on the road. This number =
of closures is unheard of.

Starting this morning, the skies began to clear. Literally hoardes of =
American Robins and European Starlings are feeding in our 10 acres of =
orchards and fields. There must be at least 200 Robins and almost twice =
that many Starlings. I can't recall this number of either all showing up =
the same day. Also putting in an appearance were 3 Killdeer and half a =
dozen Violet-green Swallows.

These guys may not be "lifers", but the return of the birds in the =
Spring is marvelous.

Happy birding
