What plumage? Coastal sightings of basic-plumge birds are pretty common
in Winter, but breeding-plumage sightings are infrequent. There were at
least two breeding-plumage males sighted last year (one by me in
Redmond, and one by Andy Steppanievski in Yakima county(?)). I am
curious about just how rare alternate-plumage really is here.
