First swallows for 1997 in the Des Moines, WA, Marina area:

Whilst headed north to Burien P&R about 7:20AM saw three Tree swallows
near 223rd & 6th Ave S., above the north end of the Marina. Still waiting
for our local nesting swallows (Barn & Violet-green) to return. I don't
know what the status is for Tree swallows nesting anywhere in the coastal
urban forest between Normandy Park area and Saltwater State Park as this
is only my third season of record-keeping for the Des Moines, WA Marina
and surrounds.
Can any other Tweeter who knows this area comment about Tree swallow
nesting patterns here?

Thanks and love that COMET Hale-Bopp (PM viewing when no clouds),
