We save the forms from any commercial suet we buy and use them to put the
following recipe in. They will then fit our suet cages.

1 cup lard (it is convenient to use the 1# pkgs of Morrell lard)
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
Melt this in the top of a double broiler. Then stir in:
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup flour (part white, part whole wheat)
2 cups rolled oats
2 cups cornmeal
Then add a handful of millet and sunflower seeds

Pour this mix into the forms, cool and store in freezer.

All the birds that come into our yard love this suet over any that we buy.
Even have had Pileated Woodpeckers at the feeder. I attach a board
vertically below the suet cage to give the woodpeckers something to brace
their tails.
