An announcement before the sightings. At Birders' night on Thursday April
3rd, Dr Lee Gass of the UBC Hummingbird Lab will give a talk on Hummingbird
Biology: Cognition and Flight. This Birders' Night is also Dutch Auction
Night so bring your bird-related items for sale and come prepared to bring
home Bargains!

Sightings for Saturday March 29

3 SANDHILL CRANES, 2 adults and an immature bird, were in the Aloette
Polder. In a late report from Friday, the spring arrival TOWNSEND'S
SOLITAIRE was in the SW corner of the bowling green at Queen Elizabeth Park.
A BARN OWL was at Colony Farm.

Sightings for Friday March 28

The Spring arrival ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was singing in Campbell Valley
Park. 5 EURASIAN WIGEON and a SAVANNAH SPARROW were at Blackie Spit. 2
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS and an AMERICAN KESTRAL were at Colony Farm. An AMERICAN
KESTRAL was also Roberts Bank Road and highway 17. One SNOWY OWL and a
EURASIAN WIGEON were 1 km East of the foot of 64th on Boundary Bay.

Sightings for Thursday March 27

Some of the DUNLIN and BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS in Bundary Bay are molting into
breeding plumage.
